The largest city in southern Utah, St. George is one of the most popular resort and retirement communities in the Southwest.

St. George is the capital of southern Utah’s scenic paradise. This city of 90,000 has a rich pioneer history as well as a far-reaching reputation for hospitality. With more than 2,500 lodging rooms ranging from fine hotels to comfortable motels, to delightful bed and breakfast inns, St. George has a history of making visitors feel at home. Add to that the more than 75+ fine restaurants and eateries, as well as some of the most exciting shopping opportunities in the Southwest, and St. George emerges as an excellent place to headquarter an unforgettable vacation.

For many, the name St. George, Utah conjures images of historic pioneer buildings such as the majestic St. George Temple and Tabernacle, the Brigham Young Home, the Opera House, and other beautifully restored buildings. A delightful downtown walking tour begins at the Chamber of Commerce Office (the restored Pioneer Courthouse) on St. George Blvd. and 100 East. The seasonal “St. George Live” tour, featuring live actors at key spots along the way, starts at the Opera House on 200 North and Main Street.

There are a myriad of things to do in St. George, Utah. The city has invested millions of dollars in scenic pathways for walking, biking, roller blading and running. There are also many family activity centers.

St. George, Utah offers a variety of family fun such as miniature golf, bumper boats, go-carts, driving ranges, batting cages, arcades, bike and skating paths. Hiking at nearby Snow Canyon State Park with boating, fishing, and ATVing at close by Sand Hollow Reservoir and the Pine Mountain Recreational Area.

St. George is 42 miles from Zion National Park and within a days drive to Bryce National Park to the north and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell to the south.
