Blanding has the unique distinction of being located in the very heart of San Juan County, one of the most picturesque, and diverse places in the world. Stay in Blanding a couple of days and visit all of Southeastern Utah from your “Base Camp To Adventure.”

While In Blanding take a walking tour, visit our museums, great restaurants, trading posts, pottery shops and antique stores. If you like to fish take your pole and head out to Recapture Reservoir or 4th Reservoir which also offer great boating.

The Blanding area also has great trails for your ATVs, horseback riding, bicycling and more. The photo opportunities are endless. Canyonlands National Park is 40 miles north and Arches National Park is 81 miles away. We also have one of the best public golf courses in Utah.

Seventy-three miles south of Blanding is world famous Monument Valley Tribal Park with its buttes, mesas, canyons and free-standing formations, which have been featured in countless movies and television commercials.

Visit Bluff’s Historic District and tour the renovated Old Bluff Fort and see how the original settlers of Bluff lived. Bluff is home of the International Balloon Festival held every January, world-famous Twin Rocks Trading Post and Cafe and historic St. Christopher’s Mission. West of Blanding you’ll find Natural Bridges National Monument, Lake Powell National Recreation Area, Elk Ridge, Cottonwood Wash, Butler Wash Ruins and a number of scenic trails and sites.

East of Blanding is Hovenweep National Monument, Montezuma Canyon, Recapture Canyon and even more scenic wonders. Mesa Verde National Park,located near Cortez, Colorado, is only about 2 hours east of Blanding.
